Our Guru

Swami Kriyananda writes in his foreword to Autobiography of a Yogi, that …

No man, it has been said, is great in the eyes of his own valet. The saying becomes null and void in the life of Paramhansa Yogananda. He remains the greatest man I have ever known. The people closest to him were the ones who held him in the highest reverence and esteem.

Daya Ma, erstwhile President of SRF/YSS said:

Your Guru is so great that your salvation is already taken care of. All you have to do is put one foot in front of the other.

Indeed … the greatest man. The more we study our Guru, the more we attune with our Guru, the more we can see His immesurable Love, the Love with which He is guiding us to the Heavenly abode. It is indeed this Love which is our sole raft across the ocean of this world. After all, Adi Shankaracharya did say …

The greatest gift in the three worlds it eh gift of a God-realized Guru.

And as Master Himself said:

The Guru is, among all men, the best of givers. Like the Lord Himself, his generosity knows no boundaries.

Such is the power of the Guru. Jai Guru!
